Drum Safari at the Dole Center

The Dole Center on base hosted a Drum Safari for the kids. We decided to take Rachel since she likes music so much.

The people were kind of hippies, but they did a really great job with the program and the music was fun and interactive.

Rachel decided the best seat was in Pepaw's lap.

They brought out different animal signs and the kids learned different rhythms for each animal.

Here's Rachel dancing with the program.

She did a much better job with this program than with the juggler. We made it a whole 30 minutes before she asked to leave.

Rachel and Watering the Gardens

Again a very hot afternoon, so I thought I'd let Rachel have some fun with the water hose.
She was trying to fill up her watering can with the hose, but most of the water just ended up on her.

She doesn't pose well for the camera...this is the best shot of her looking at me.

I just thought she looked pretty here.

Playing in the puddle again.

Ruth today chillin' on the couch.

Rachel and Pepaw hanging outside on the swing.

Outdoor Fun - July 11, 2012

Spending some time in the backyard on this very hot day...
Our daughter would want to play and sit in the bucket (couldn't ever get a pic before she would hop out) over the pool.

Now lets play in the mud instead of the pool.

Ooo a leaf in my mud puddle!

Keeping cool in the shade.

Rachel at the zoo July 9, 2012

Mom and I took the girls to the zoo today, so here are some pics:

Rachel running through the entrance.

Rachel watching the cow drink water from the "pool"

Rachel brushing the goats while I feed them.

Rachel became obsessed with this peacock. She kept wanting to touch him and would close so that the feathers would brush against her legs. I'm surprised at how patient the bird was with her. We evetually coerced her out of the Asian farm with the thought of seeing the gators.

The tortoises are usually my favorite animal. I think its so neat how big they get. We got a special treat today though, see the video below:

Rachel's 2nd Birthday

We made the trip back to South Carolina for Rachel's 2nd birthday. We decided it was about time she get her first Chuckie Cheese experience. She was super excited and didn't want to wait for the lady to let us through the ropes.

Eating some pizza.

Her Memaw showing her all the fun things to do at CC.

She had so much fun, but was exhausted and just wanted to hug on Memaw. This was the best photo we could get with her Grandparent J's.

Her big birthday gift from Memaw and Pepaw - a fun new house to play in when she visits.

Rachel, Mom, and Granny Lottie

Rachel checking out all her gifts - what a lucky girl.

Checking out her cupcake. She ended up tasting the frosting and that was it. Her first birthday smash cake was alot more fun.

Our family.

Easter 2012

I know, I know, so lame. Anyway, this is my attempt to start catching up.

Here are some photos from Easter 2012.

We didn't do a whole lot for Rachel, but the Easter Bunny did put some Cadbury cream eggs, Peeps, a little bear, and Reese's eggs in a little bunny bag for her to open.
I made these cupcakes that were supposed to look like little nests. They turned out really good and here is Rachel attempting to eat one. She liked playing with the little Milk Dud eggs more than eating the cupcake.

Our table at the club. They got close to spelling the name right.

Pretty good family shot.

This was at a friends house a day or two before Easter. She really liked wearing the bunny ears.

Rachel playing in the pool

I joined the 384th squadron spouses group planned outing to go see The Hunger Games and dinner at Jose Peppers. So, that left Isaiah and Rachel the whole afternoon together. It was warm enough to drag out the pool and let Rachel have some fun.this is a good cheesy grin
